Incompetanks was a team entry for Brains Eden 2018 held at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. We competed alongside jammers from all over the globe. The theme was 'unreliable' which resulted in lots of funny features!
This game is a twin stick shooter with genuine tank controls where the objective is to destroy the other player's wooden tank using your flamethrower.
The primary unreliable feature was the ability for a tank to overheat (orange UI bar) if the weapon was used for too long.
Players can also launch oil blob projectiles over the arena to make their opponents slip and slide out of control!

WHAT I LEARNED
How to deal with input from multiple joysticks.
Creating classic tank style movements using twin analogue sticks and the power of 3D maths.
Games involving physics require lots of play testing!
